Our story
Our history
Established in 1962.
Example Primary School was founded in 1962 by a small group of parents in Rondebosch who wanted a school where every child would be known by name. From eighteen pupils in a converted house on the original property, the school has grown to its current enrolment of roughly 320 learners across Grade R to Grade 7.
Throughout the decades, the school has remained committed to its founding principle: small classes, dedicated teachers, and a community in which children are encouraged to think for themselves. The grounds have expanded over four major building phases, but the original 1962 classroom block still stands at the heart of the campus.
Today the school is an established IEB primary, sending its Grade 7 leavers to a wide range of leading high schools across Cape Town each year.
